Director Hur Jin-ho's film <Ordinary Family> has been named one of Variety's 'Best Films of 2025'.
Variety selected the most outstanding films screened in North America during the first half of this year, and <Ordinary Family> is the only Korean film included in this list.
The film is based on the bestselling novel <The Dinner> by Dutch author Herman Koch, which is a thriller depicting the psychological conflict and breakdown experienced by two upper-class couples as they confront their children's criminal actions. It features actors such as Seol Kyung-gu, Jang Dong-gun, Kim Hee-ae, and Suhyun.
Variety described <Ordinary Family> as "a tense and morally painful drama" and stated that it will "captivate audiences from the very first scene."
In addition to <Ordinary Family>, the 'Best Films of 2025' list includes <Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning>, <28 Years Later>, <Sinus: The Sinners>, <Bring Her Back>, and <Black Back> among others.
